You are invited to apply online to the BackNine Front, a program created to support the development of new ventures by individuals seeking to change the direction of their lives and chase a dream they've always had but are unable to pursue. All submissions will be reviewed by our team and a panel of industry professionals experienced in each respective field. Finalists will be interviewed by our production division.
MISSION
Everyone has a story, and a dream. Unfortunately, for any number of reasons, many people have not had the opportunity to pursue their passions, stuck earning a living instead of designing their lives. With BackNine Front, we have developed a program that will support a number of ventures each year, with early stage funding, as we front your back nine. BackNine's percentage of net profits, generated by the new ventures, will be contributed to additional ventures, helping to perpetuate the division.
ELIGIBILITY
- Must be seeking support for an idea that is unique to current personal position or employment.
- Must be a venture unique in its particular industry.
- Candidates must be willing to participate in on camera interviews, which may be seen online at BackNineCinema.com and could be used for future BackNine productions.
- Candidates must agree to license any and all footage and life rights related to footage and product to BackNine Studios, as it relates to Motion Picture, TV and Digital Media rights.
- In exchange for funding, candidates must grant a percentage of Net Profits to be retained by BackNine Front, which will be fed back into the fund to support additional ventures (Note: The Final percentage to be determined by the amount of actual funding applied to development and distribution of final product. The candidate will own the license and rights to the product/service.).
Our team will evaluate the proposed ventures. Applications will also be reviewed by a group of mentors, industry professionals with proven track records from each particular industry. Finalists will be selected; and our production team will visit candidates and tape interviews, providing an opportunity to capture these personal stories on film.
Each candidate and their respective venture will be analyzed based on the following criteria:
- Market Feasibility - Will the current market support this venture?
- Financial Considerations - What is the cost to develop and bring to market vs revenue potential?
- Success Factor - What are prospects of longevity, possible exit strategy and potential for home run?
- Development Timeline - How long will it take to bring to market and what resources will be necessary?
In addition to all required information included on the application form, candidates must attach the following, in either PDF, MS Word or Text format:
- Personal profile, bio and/or resume
- 1-2 Page Pitch of venture
- Projected cost to develop the venture
The following items are optional, but recommended:
- Video clip - This can be in the form of an interview, personal story, animation, experimental footage or video essay. We recommend posting it privately to Youtube and sending a link to .
- Financing plan - This may include description of financing structure and/or list of potential partners
- Marketing & Distribution strategy - This may include any creative marketing concepts or distribution systems that may be applicable to the product or service
